Students Hostel:

 The number of students admitted in the NIT  has increased . There are  754 students  residing in the Hostels at present.

At present 3 boys Hostles  i.e  Chenab, Indus and Jhelum are in operation and for girl students 14 residential quarters  L-7 to L12 and L-23 and L-24  and AP  quarters  1 to 6 are being used as girls  Hostel.. Girls hostel of 102 capacity inaugurated by the Hon'ble   Chairman B. O. G. in June 2008 is also available for the girl students.

Post Graudate Hostles.

 There is no separate hostel for post graduate students / research scholars. At present these students are being accommodated with B-Tech hostlers. 

 Students Messes.

  Three messes of the above hostels are being run by the students under over all supervision of the Staff advisor mess.

The wardens and other hostel staff regularly visit to hostels and  take-up students  problems (if any) immediately special care is taken for the Ist semester students so that they will feel comfortable.

The students residing in the hostels are being provided with following facilities:-

1.         Furnished rooms

2.         Hot and cold water.

3.         Messing facilities

4.         Farashes & st. attendants are being provided for cleaning of students’ resident rooms and hostel bath rooms and surrounding of hostels.

5.         The Hall Asstts are taking care 24 hours of the hostels especially for new comers so that incidents of ragging do not occur.

            The discipline in the hostels during the period under report has remained quite satisfactory and there has been no case of ragging / sever indiscipline.
