The Right to information Acts, 2005 in applicable to the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, Kashmir as it is being an authority/Institution under the Control of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, New Delhi. The intent of the Act is to provide the citizens easy access to the information. It further aims at transparency and accountability in the working of every public authority.

          Whereas, the NIT, Srinagar intends to give easy access to the information the citizens who want to obtain under the Right to Information Act, 2005.

          And whereas, to achieve the said objective of dissemination of information following officers have been nominated by the governing body of the Institute by designation to function as Appellate Authority. Public Information Officer and Assistant Public Information Officers in the National Institute of Technology, Hazratbal, Srinagar Kashmir under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
