Message from HOD

Since its establishment in 1960 as Regional Engineering College, the Institute has come a long way on its rails of progress and development.  In August 2003, the college was upgraded to the status of National Institute of Technology. With this decision, the horizon of the Institute was thus widened from regional to national level. The Department of Training and Placement of the Institute has tried it’s best to bridge the gap between the students and industries and other commercial establishments of the country. In the academic year 2007-08, prestigious companies viz., DRDO, ABB, Satyam, L&T, Vedanta Resources,   HPCL, TCS, WIPRO, ESSAR GROUP, ALSTOM, POWER GRID, SIMPLEX, HCC, Punjab Tractors, Punj Lloyd and NTPC have conducted campus interviews for our students. More than 90% of the students are already placed.

We are hopeful that NIT in general and Training and Placement Cell in particular, will touch the pinnacles of success and we will be in a position to attract a galaxy of companies of the country for our campus placement programme
